“Safety Monitoring Procedure of the Genetically Modified Plant during the Post-release of Variety”
To date, several massive efforts have been conducted in order to fulfill the rapid increase of human needs. Application of biotechnology methods to produce genetic modified plants (GMPs) has been involve to produce the consumed biological materials for food, feed, drugs, or the industrial additive substances. Therefore, the production of GMPs become one of the solutions for resolving the problem in this century, or at the subsequent time. The the safety of GMPs for the human or animal consumption and for the environmental sustainability is still a matter of debate. Knowledge of whats is GMPs and how to regulate their distribution need to be informed to the society for gaining the same perspective on the benefit and risks of GMPs for human consumption.
Center for Development of Science and Technology (CDAST) University of Jember together with the Indonesian Protein Society (IPS) will organize the talkshow that will focused on the discussion of the regulation of GMPs monitoring at the post-release variety in Indonesia. This event will presents the official government that experienced and competence in the formulation of regulation GMPs in Indonesia, and scientists and biotechnology entrepreneur that have been the acts as the objects of this regulation. Share information between the guest in the talkshow events would be provide beneficially information to the society that are interested in the development of GMPs, or even for the society that are resist on the GMPs.
